Laser Therapy – RejuVanate

Phoenix CO2 Laser

As women, we go through a myriad of changes throughout our lifetime – puberty, childbearing, and menopause, just to name a few – and these events can have quite an effect on our bodies. Hormone fluctuations, hair loss, change in skin texture and loss of elasticity in our skin are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what we experience over the years. What you may not know is that while these changes are natural, they can cause a loss of function, as well as confidence, especially when your sexual organs are affected. It may seem like an embarrassing topic to bring up, let alone to talk about treating, but rest assured that you are not the only woman suffering from these issues. At Cosmetic Gynecology and Aesthetics, we understand that you may feel hesitant to seek treatment, but because we are a practice OF women, FOR women, we are sensitive to that, and strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible from start to finish.

After going through childbirth and as the natural aging process progresses, it is common for women to experience dryness, looseness, and other symptoms in their genital region. These issues alone can be uncomfortable, but they can also cause more problems, both cosmetic and functional. Many women may feel self-conscious about these conditions, or even be unaware that there are options available to address them. We offer several treatments for vaginal rejuvenation, including the Phoenix CO2 vaginal laser.

What is the Phoenix Laser?

The Phoenix laser utilizes CO2 fractional laser technology. This technology is designed to deliver fractional beams of CO2 laser energy to the vaginal tissues via precise pulses. These waves of laser energy cause the tissues to contract, as well as to stimulate the natural collagen production in the targeted treatment area. The result is improved elasticity, less vaginal atrophy, increased vaginal tightness, and added support at the base of the bladder.

This minimally invasive treatment is safe, painless, and only takes 10-15 minutes per session. There is no downtime for healing, and no side effects.

What Can it Treat?

As we age, our hormones change, and the amount of estrogen in our bodies begins to decrease. This can cause vaginal atrophy, as well as dryness, irritation, and a number of other issues. However, in just three sessions, the Phoenix laser can remedy these problems, including:

  • Dryness/irritation
  • Burning
  • Itching
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Appearance of larger vaginal opening
  • Mild to moderate bladder control issues or overactive bladder

If you are experiencing one or more of these symptoms, laser vaginal rejuvenation may be the solution for you.

How does the Phoenix CO2 Laser Improve Vaginal Health?

The pulses of laser energy that are delivered via a special handheld device penetrate the collagen layer of the vaginal mucus membrane. The concentrated thermal energy causes the tissue to coagulate, or shrink, as well as trigger collagen reconstruction in the vaginal tissue. The result is complete remodeling of the mucosa in the vagina, and the regeneration of stronger, more robust vaginal tissue overall. The tightening effect extends to the base of the bladder, helping to alleviate mild urinary incontinence.

Am I a Candidate for vaginal laser?

If you have noticed mild to moderate looseness or laxity in your vagina, or irritation and dryness that has not only affected your self-confidence, but also caused physical discomfort, you may be a candidate for vaginal rejuvenation. This treatment is also an excellent option for cancer survivors or women for whom hormone therapy is not recommended. However, women with significant vaginal laxity or atrophy, bladder prolapse or serious urinary incontinence will likely not benefit from laser rejuvenation, and will usually require surgical repair for best results.

Results of vaginal laser.

Most vaginal laser treatments require three sessions at least 4 weeks apart with a touch-up scheduled after one year. There is no downtime required – in fact, you can go back to your regular activities, including having sexual intercourse, in as little as four days following your treatment.

If vaginal dryness, laxity, or urinary incontinence are affecting your life and how you feel about yourself, RejuVAnate laser therapy may be the answer. Call Cosmetic Gynecology and Aesthetics today at 904-384-8023 to schedule a consultation.
